LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sophomore midfielder Aubrey White scored her first goal of the season, but Longwood field hockey's rally fell to Bellarmine, 3-1, Friday afternoon at Trager Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Lancers and Knights battled through a scoreless first half, with Longwood holding a 7-5 advantage in shots. The Lancers also earned two penalty corners in the opening 30 minutes.
• Junior goalkeeper Sophie Mooldijk made one save in the first half as the Longwood defense kept Bellarmine off the scoreboard.
• Bellarmine (1-6, 1-1 MAC) broke through just five minutes into the second half when Luna Tuncay scored her first goal of the afternoon off an assist from Wende de Witte, giving the Knights a 1-0 lead.
• Bellarmine extended its advantage at 49:02 when de Witte found the back of the cage to make it 2-0.
• Longwood answered less than four minutes later. White finished a chance off a penalty corner with sophomore midfielder Hailey Flick earning the assist to cut the Bellarmine lead to 2-1 at 52:43.
• Tuncay added her second goal of the afternoon at 57:32, assisted by Brooke Buchanan, to provide the final margin for the Knights. 
• Mooldijk finished the afternoon with three saves, while Longwood recorded 12 shots and five penalty corners.

Longwood (0-7, 0-2 MAC) continues its road trip Sunday, Sept. 27, traveling to Muncie, Ind., to face Ball State. The match is scheduled for noon at Briner Sports Complex.
