Five Lancers Named Big South Players To Watch

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Five Longwood men's soccer student-athletes were named Big South Preseason  Players To Watch on Tuesday.

Senior Aristhid Kamdjin and junior Brando Bedolla were named to the preseason list for the second consecutive year, while seniors Mesfin Roda and Ezrah Serralde and sophomore Benjamin Ferrero earned a spot this season. In total, 29 Big South players were recognized. Each team could select up to five players (regardless of position) to be included on the Watch List.

Bedolla and Roda were among nine forwards named to the watch list. Bedolla was an All-Big South Second Team selection in 2025, while leading the Lancers with 18 points on six goals and six assists. Some of his notable performances during his junior season included scoring the game-winning goal in a victory over Elon and tallying a pair of markers in a draw with Winthrop.

Roda, a native of Barcelona, Spain, joined Longwood this season after playing 44 games over his career at Milwaukee and Florida Atlantic. He was named to the All-Horizon League Third Team in 2024 thanks to a standout season for the Panthers. He totaled 17 points on five goals and seven assists in helping Milwaukee to a 9-5-5 record and a berth in the Horizon League Semifinals.

The pair of Kamdjin and Serralde were mainstays in the Lancer lineup last season and are among 10 midfielders named to the preseason watch list. Over the last two seasons, Kamdjin has started 24 of his 27 appearances. Serralde broke on to the scene for the Lancers in 2025, tallying seven points on two goals and three assists. He ended the year strong with a point in each of the final three games.

Ferrero was one of only six defenders named to the watch list. He enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign, earning All-Big South honorable mention and Big South All-Freshman Team honors. He started 11 of his 12 appearances and finished with two goals and an assist.

Longwood was picked fifth in the Big South preseason predicted order of finish by vote of the league head coaches. Reigning conference champion High Points was the unanimous preseason favorite.
