FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood Baseball Head Coach
Ray Noe announced the addition of
Harrison Stevens to the team's coaching staff today.
Stevens joins the Lancers as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, and he comes to Farmville by way of Ball State after helping the Cardinals to a 36-win campaign. He also has coached at Emmanuel University.
"We are incredibly excited to add Harrison to our coaching staff," Noe said. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong recruiting background from his time at Ball State and Emmanuel University. He is a tireless worker and will make an instant impact on our program."
Stevens helped Ball State finish third in the MAC while winning 21 conference games, and he helped guide the team to the best regular season fielding percentage in the nation (.984). He also served as the first base coach for a Cardinal squad that had a trio of All-MAC First Team selections, and the offense led the MAC in total hits (595).
"I am very excited to join the staff at Longwood University," said Stevens. "Coach Noe is well-respected in the baseball community, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to work for him. The impact that he has already made on the Longwood program is apparent. My wife Megan and I are eager to be a part of the Farmville community and to make a positive impact."
Prior to Ball State, he spent two seasons on staff at Emmanuel in the NCAA Division II ranks. In 2024, he helped Emmanuel post its first 30-win season in team history at the Division II level. That campaign included 18 wins in Conference Carolinas. The team took a series over the 11th-ranked team in the nation, UNC Pembroke, as well as six three-game sweeps.
The 2024 success was built off a strong 2023 that saw the team post its best record to date in its Division II history.
He served as the head coach at Battle Mountain High School in Colorado from 2020-22 and helped lead the team to new levels of success. In 2021, the team's 10-6 record in a shortened season was the best winning percentage in school history, and the team advanced to the postseason in 2022 for the first time in school history.
Stevens grew up in Colorado, where he played at Eagle Valley. He then played collegiately at Colby Community College before going to Evangel University to play for two seasons. He also played with the Gate City Grays and Ozark Generals.
Stevens holds his associate's degree from Colby CC while earning his bachelor's in sport management with a minor in coaching at Evangel. He obtained his master's degree in positive coaching and athletic leadership from the University of Missouri. He lives with his wife Megan in Farmville.
