SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Another race, another record for Sophie Farley.
 
The sophomore broke the 5K program record again to lead Longwood women's cross country to a fifth-place finish out of 23 teams at the USC Upstate Invitational on Saturday morning.
 
NOTABLE RESULTS:
 
Farley finished fourth in the 217-runner field with her time of 17:38.8, lowering the program record—which also serves as her personal best—another four seconds after breaking it in September at the Lancer Pink Invitational.
 
She helped the Lancer women rip off an average time of 18:37 for their top five, and all five of the team's scoring runners broke 19 minutes for the first time in team history.
 
Kirsten Morley powered her way to an 18:40.6 that was enough to finish in 36^th. She was only four seconds off her previous personal best.
 
Sydney O'Hara-Wood finished 42^nd with an 18:50.5, again just scant seconds off her personal best set nearly a month ago at the Lancer Pink Invitational.
 
Lanie Grogg was the team's fourth finisher with an 18:57.8, marking the first time she has broken 19 minutes in her Lancer career. She finished 52^nd.
 
Priscilla Keller was the team's fifth scorer at 53^rd, with her time of 18:58.6 a season-best mark.
 
Madison Davis (19:11.0), Riley Humphries (19:40.8), Ysabel Wells (20:07.7) also set personal bests on the day.
 
WHAT THEY SAID:
 
"The goal for today was for the team to keep pushing forward as we finished out our regular season," said Longwod Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Brooke Craig. "We checked a lot of boxes today and are ready for the challenge at home in two weeks."
