SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Clinton Clancy flew today while leading the Longwood men at the Upstate Invite.

The Lancer junior nearly broke 25 minutes, and the Longwood men posted their fastest 8K team average ever to finish eighth in the 22-team field.

NOTABLE RESULTS:

Clancy finished 24
th in the 228-runner field with a personal best time of 25:09.2, more than a full minute faster than his previous personal best. His time also was the second-fastest 8K in team history.
Â
That helped the Lancer men post a team average of 26 minutes, and four of the team's top five runners finished in the top 60.

AJ Koval finished 34
th with a personal best time of 25:27.7, besting his previous personal best by more than a full minute. His time also served as the third-fastest 8K in team history.

Andrew Hathaway followed their lead and also powered home for a personal best at 26:10.1 He finished 58
th.
Â
Jaiden Santos-Nguyen was one second behind Hathaway with a 26:11.2. The time continued the trend of personal bests for the Lancers, with the freshman finishing 60
th in the field.

Louis Semtner was the team's final scoring runner, and the freshman also ran a personal best with a 27:03.4 to finish 102
nd.

Sean Arjona (27:15.3),
Nic Williams (27:22.4) and
Andrew Rutherford (27:34.1) all set personal bests as well.
