Tyler Thomas joined the Longwood communications staff late in the fall of 2023. He will serve as the primary contact for Longwood baseball, field hockey, and womens basketball (secondary) in addition to other sports.
A former collegiate student-athlete, Thomas played his final two years of college basketball at Mary Baldwin, where he graduated in 2022, and he served as a team captain for two years. He also earned second-team all-conference honors as a senior and was the male scholar-athlete of the year, a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and student senate.
During his college years, he served as a multimedia intern for the Coastal Plains League where he wore a variety of hats. He wrote post game stories, managed various social media accounts, took photos and videos and created other forms of creative content.
He also served as an athletics communications intern at Hampden-Sydney early in his college career. While there, he helped set up game days, worked both basketball and baseball home games and helped with website content management.
