Chaney Manganello is in her third year with the Lancers after joining the program in July 2015. A former standout at William & Mary, Manganello played in the midfield and on the back line for the Tribe from 2010-2014, earning her Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and health science.

In her second season on campus, the Lancers punched their first ticket to the Mid-America Conference with a 3-3 league record and 9-9 overall finish. Four Lancers recieved All-MAC honors - Edel Nyland and Ellen Ross as first-team selections, Lil-Sophie Achterwinter and Leonie Verstraete as second-team members.

With Manganello on staff in 2015, the Lancers achieved a 3-3 conference record in their second year as an affiliate member of the MAC to tie for third place in the league standings.

Manganello joins the Lancers after spending a year as a graduate assistant with the VCU field hockey program in the 2014-15 academic year. During her stint with the Rams, she assisted in developing on-field training sessions, while coordinating numerous activities off the turf and spearheading the program’s service and community outreach initiatives. In addition, Manganello managed the team’s social media account and planned the VCU field hockey alumnae basketball event.

During her year at VCU, Manganello earned her master’s degree in education from the Center for Sport Leadership.

Prior to her stint at VCU, Manganello played field hockey for four seasons at William & Mary where she served as the team captain in 2013 and was named a Second-Team All-CAA selection. Manganello would add CAA All-Tournament honors to close out her career with the Tribe.

Manganello also gained coaching experience by leading the St. Catherine’s Middle School basketball and lacrosse programs. In addition, she has coached at the Field Hockey Futures program for the past three years, a training camp geared toward elite high school prospects.

Outside of her commitment to field hockey, Manganello has gained experience in sports marketing as an intern for the Australian Football League. While in Sydney, Australia, she planned and implemented community focused events such as youth clinics and junior fan clubs.

A native of Richmond, Manganello currently resides in Farmville.
