Biography
2019: Named Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year and to the Big South All-Academic Team…became the second Lancer women’s soccer player to earn Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year recognition, joining former teammate and fellow biology major Teresa Fruchterman, who earned the award in 2017…named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District III Team for a second straight year…on the field, anchored Longwood’s backline, starting all 14 games she appeared in…logged 1,304 minutes – second most on the team – despite missing the final three games of the season with an injury…played every minute in 13 of the 14 games she appeared in…went the distance in all five of Longwood’s shutouts…helped Longwood finished third in the conference in fewest goals allowed and goals against average in Big South play…spearheaded a backline that allowed just 6.7 shots on goal per game on the year…fronted a defensive unit that produced an All-Big South honorable mention goalkeeper in Madison Van Dyke…participated in a summer internship in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in which she spent six weeks rotating on different units of a hospital while also taking Spanish-language medical classes.
2018: Was selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District III team, becoming the fourth student-athlete in Longwood’s D-I history to earn that honor…earned All-Big South Honorable Mention honors as well…led Longwood with 1,596 minutes on the season, playing all but 15 of the team's minutes on the year…helped Longwood’s defense hold opposing offenses to a meager 5.4 shots on goal per game, third-fewest in the Big South...also stepped up in the midfield and contributed two goals and an assist, including the game-winning goal in a 4-3 win at Howard (9/2)…started all 18 games…helped engineer four shutouts and 12 games allowing one goal or fewer…ended the year by helping the Lancers surrender one or fewer goals in the final eight games…also scored goals in a 4-0 win against Richmond (8/19) and a 4-3 win against Howard (9/2)…her lone assist came in a 5-1 victory against Hampton (10/3)…played every minute in each of Longwood’s five overtime games…received the Longwood All-Academic Team Award…named a Longwood Scholar-Athlete…honored with the Big South Commissioner’s Award for posting a perfect 4.0 GPA during the 2018-19 academic year.
2017: Strung together a breakout freshman campaign, earning Big South Freshman of the Year honors after starting 18 games and playing the second-most minutes on the team…the second Lancer to earn Big South Women's Soccer Freshman of the Year honors, joining four-time All-Big South selection Amanda Spencer (2013-16)...earned the Big South Commissioner’s Award for maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA for the 2017-18 academic year…joined the starting lineup in the fourth game of the season and did not come off the field for a single second the rest of the way…paired with Big South Defensive Player of the Year Sydney Wallace to form the top backline in the Big South…helped Longwood lead the conference with 11 shutouts and a 0.55 goals against average…also helped Longwood surrender the fewest shots on goal in the conference…named Big South Freshman of the Week on Oct. 9...contributed to back-to-back shutouts in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the Big South Championship tournament…put together three 110-minute performances in three double-overtime draws…also named to the Big South All-Freshman Team…the first freshman of Longwood’s Division I era to play at least 1,800 minutes…also selected as the Longwood Freshman Female Athlete of the Year at the annual awards banquet...named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll…a Longwood Scholar-Athlete.
