Biography
2019: A regular of the starting rotation as a junior, starting 11 of her 12 games on the frontlineā¦attempted 11 shots and put six of those on goalā¦played a career-high 90 minutes in the season opener against VCUā¦played at least 53 minutes in every game she appeared inā¦earned 70-plus minutes in six of her 12 contestsā¦attempted a shot in seven consecutive games from Sept. 5 against Old Dominion to Oct. 2 against Radford, during which Longwood went 3-3-1ā¦contributed 72 minutes in a 1-0 win over Big South rival Radfordā¦also chipped in 72 minutes in a 2-1 win against UMBC.
2018: Appeared in 14 games, starting nine of those...totaled 628 minutes as a sophomore before succumbing to a season-ending injuryā¦despite the injury, finished tied for third on the team with three assistsā¦also added on goal, which proved to be the equalizer in a 2-2 overtime draw against UNC Asheville (9/19)ā¦also assisted on a game-tying goal in a 1-1 draw against Towson (8/26) and another strike in a 3-0 win against USC Upstate (10/6)⦠assisted three different players with those helpers...named a Longwood Scholar-Athleteā¦honored with the Big South Commissionerās Award for posting a perfect 4.0 GPA during the 2018-19 academic year.
2017: An impact freshman who scored the second most goals on the team in her inaugural seasonā¦played in 18 games with one start while logging 572 minutes on the pitchā¦helped Longwood to a 3-0-1 record in games she scored inā¦netted the game-winner in a 2-0 victory against Winthrop, fielding a pass from Kelly Almeida and converting it to a go-ahead strike in the 78th minuteā¦named Big South Freshman of the Week on Sept. 18ā¦also scored a goal in her first Big South Championship tournament game, adding a late insurance goal ā again on a pass from Almeida ā to give Longwood a 2-0 lead in the 81st minuteā¦a Big South Presidential Honor Roll selectionā¦a Longwood Scholar-Athlete.
High School: Four-year letterwinner at Loudoun County High School...led Loudoun County to back-to-back state titles in 2015 and 2016...also held Loudoun County capture region championships in 2015 and 2016, and district titles in 2014, 2015 and 2016...scored five goals and dished five assists as a junior...amassed a career-high 14 goals as a sophomore...opened her high school career with a six-goal campaign as a freshman...earned AP Scholar with Honors distinction.
Personal: Born Emily Jane Mothersbaugh on June 4, 1999...daughter of Mike and Carole Mothersbaugh...has two siblings, Taylor and Kyle...father, Mike, played football at Frostburg State University.
