FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood lacrosse midfielder Elena Firestone earned Big South All-Academic Team honors, the conference office announced today.
 
Firestone, a junior, excelled in the classroom while also starting 13 games and playing in all 15 this year for the Lancers.
 
In addition to being a full-time student-athlete, Firestone is majoring in computer science and is on track to graduate this spring a full year early. She has been an honoree on the President's List five times for a perfect GPA each semester.
 
Following graduation, she plans to pursue work in the defense sector for national security.
 
On the field, Firestone scored one goal and added one assist this season, with her goal coming in a road win at Radford.
 
She also posted 12 draw controls and added three ground balls and two CTs while playing up and down the field.
 
The season is complete for Longwood women's lacrosse, and the team will return to Elizabeth Burger Jackson Field in the spring of 2026 to compete for the Big South title.
