FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood continues its three-game homestand with former NorPac rival Davidson Monday at 3 p.m.
The Lancers and Wildcats are meeting for the first time since each of the schools left the NorPac for new homes last year. The Wildcats moved affiliation to the Atlantic-10 while Longwood has settled into the Mid-American Conference.
Series HistoryLongwood and Davidson are meeting for the 29th time on Monday. The Lancers hold the slimmest of margins in the series with a 14-13-1 edge all-time. Longwood each of last year's meetings by scores of 3-1 and 2-1. Longwood has now taken the last three meetings in the series.
Scouting DavidsonDavidson is 2-11 on the season and struggling to produce a consistent attack. The Wildcats have scratched out just 12 goals in 13 games, but Davidson is no easy out. The Wildcats have lost six, 1-goal games on the year, including their past three. Meanwhile, Davidson allowed more than three goals only once this season, back on August 31 – 11 games ago.
'Cats to WatchBecca Jones leads the way for Davidson with three goals and two assists. Joining Jones at the top of the stat sheet are Melissa Funsten, Katherine English and Dodi Allocca, who each have two goals. Funsten has a pair of assists as well to tally six points while English adds a single assist for five points.
