Former Guilford guard Gabe Proctor has been named a graduate assistant for the Longwood men’s basketball team. He begins his first season with the Lancers in 2026-27.
A two-time second team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference selection in as a junior and senior, Proctor averaged 10.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 114 career games and 56 starts for the Quakers from 2022-26. He is the 35th player in Guilford history to eclipse 1,000 career points, finishing 1,183, a figure that is eighth most in program history.
Proctor helped Guilford to three 20-win seasons and NCAA tournament berths in 2024 and 2025. He led Guilford to a trip to the Division III Final Four in 2024-25 as the Quakers finished 26-5 overall. Proctor averaged 11.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while starting all 29 games
An Apex, N.C., native, Proctor ranked third in NCAA Division III last season, averaging 3.5 made 3-pointers per game. He finished his career with 262 makes from 3-point range, third most all-time at Guilford.
Strong in the classroom, Proctor was a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection and was named to the ODAC All-Academic Team four times.
Proctor graduated from Guilford in May 2026 with a degree in business administration.
