Megan Weaver joined the Longwood athletic department in the summer of 2023 as the head coach of the women's golf program.

In her third season, Weaver had a trio of All-Big South honorees as the team advanced back to match play at the Big South Championship. Madison Lehr was named the Big South Newcomer of the Year while earning All-Big South Honorable Mention honors and a spot on the Big South All-Championship Team. In addition, freshman Avery Nordman was a Second-Team All-Big South selection while also earning a spot on the All-Freshman Team. Abigail Sheldon was an All-Big South Honorable Mention.

The Lancers finished in the top five of nine of the 10 tournaments they competed in, and the team was seeded third in the Big South Championship. Longwood finished third in stroke play before narrowly falling in the first round of match play. Lehr tied for third and was the team’s top finisher at the tournament.

In her first season at the helm, she guided the Lancers to one of their best finishes at the Big South Championship in team history. Longwood finished fourth in stroke play and qualified for match play for the first time. In match play, the team fell on the final hole to eventual champion Charleston Southern.

Emma Landis finished as the team's top golfer by scoring average on the season, posting a 75.56 scoring average. She carded two top five finishes on the year and had two of the team's four lowest rounds. At the Big South Championship, she was named to the All-Tournament Team. Breanna Hoese earned Big South All-Freshman Team honors as well after a strong freshman campaign that saw her finish with the third-best scoring average on the team.

In 2024-25, Weaver had a pair of freshman, Abigail Sheldon and Chiara Wippert, lead the team. Sheldon earned All-Big South Second Team and All-Freshman team honors. She finished in the top 15 five times in eight tournaments and was the Big South Golfer of the Week once and Freshman of the Week twice. She ranked eighth in the league in scoring average.

Weaver came to Longwood  from Dublin Coffman High School in Ohio. In 2022, she helped the team to a second-place finish in the Ohio Capital Conference sectional. Her team held a record of 152-71, and the team’s scoring average improved by 5.4 strokes from the prior year. She also had one player qualify as an individual for the state tournament.

Weaver played for four seasons at Ohio University, where she was voted the MAC Sportswoman of the Year by her peers in the MAC as a senior. She had a trio of second-place finishes in her career, and she served as a team captain as a senior while holding the 12th best stroke average in the MAC in 2012.

She graduated with her degree in mathematics while also picking up minors in psychology and business administration before her foray into the professional world. For the next decade, she worked as a credentialed actuary and led teams in financial risk analysis across industry.

In the past few years, she started to pursue coaching while still working as an actuary. She has focused on building an environment that fosters skill development both physically and mentally.
