Chris Moore

Former Mount St. Mary's graduate assistant coach Chris Moore joined the Longwood men's basketball coaching staff as director of basketball operations in June, 2017.
 
Moore came to Longwood by way of The Mount where in 2016-17 he helped Mount St. Mary's to an NCAA Tournament berth and Northeastern Conference Championship, both regular season and tournament. The Mount posted a 20-16 overall record ithat season, including a 14-4 mark in the NEC and an 11-4 record at home.
 
As director of operations, Moore handles the program's travel operations, academic monitoring, scouting and film preparation, camps, and statistical analysis while overseeing quality control of the entire program.
 
Prior to his time at Mount St. Mary's, Moore was a coach at the high school level in the Commonwealth, spending time on the sidelines most recently at Massnutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Va., John Marshall High School in Richmond, and Menchville High School in Newport News. He also coached with the Team Loaded AAU program in Richmond and has mentored several players who went on to play college basketball, including Arizona State's Dequon Lake, James Madison's Greg Jones, Hampton's Brian Darden and East Carolina's Jeremy Carter Sheppard. He also trained current FIBA professional and former Virginia standout Elton Brown.
 
Moore's coaching career spans back to his days as an undergraduate at Chowan University in Murfreesboro, N.C., where he served as a student assistant coach for the men's basketball team from 2011-13. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in health and physical education/fitness in 2014.
