2021-22: Veteran guard with immense starting and championship experience at perennial MEAC championship contender N.C. Central…started all four years for the Eagles, during which N.C. Central amassed three league titles and two trips to the NCAA Tournament…a pure point guard who is a proven leader…has a sharp basketball IQ and a strong feel for the game…a Dean’s List student and an All-MEAC Academic Team honoree at N.C. Central.

2020-21 (N.C. Central): Started all 14 games as a senior at N.C. Central, averaging 24.0 minutes per game…ranked fourth in the MEAC with 4.2 assists per game and a 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio…ranked among the league’s top 15 with 1.2 steals per game…scored 5.6 points per game while shooting .491 from the floor…flirted with a double-double against Carver, adding nine assists to his 10 points (Jan. 29)…scored a season-high 12 points against Southern (Nov. 26)…dished nine assists in back-to-back games against Carver and South Carolina State (Feb. 1)…named to the Preseason All-MEAC second team.

Central): Appeared in all 31 games with 25 starts as a junior…averaged 28.8 minutes per game to help lead the Eagles to the MEAC Regular Season Championship…dished 154 assists at an average of 5.0 per game, ranking second in the MEAC in assists per game…also ranked second in the league with a 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio…bumped his assist average to 5.6 per game against MEAC teams while also averaging 7.4 points per game in conference play…averaged 6.8 points per game for the season while shooting .459 from the floor…scored a career-high 17 points in the MEAC quarterfinal matchup against Delaware State (March 11)…played a career-high 42 minutes in an overtime win at Maryland Eastern Shore...named to the Preseason All-MEAC third team.

Central): Appeared in 29 games with 20 starts while helping lift the Eagles to the 2019 MEAC Championship…finished sixth in the MEAC with 4.3 assists per game and fourth with a 2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio…averaged 3.7 points per game and shot .316 from the floor…dished 125 assists, including a season-high 10 against Maryland Eastern Shore (Feb. 9)…scored a season-high 15 points against Howard (Feb. 18)…finished second on the team with 25 steals…named to the Preseason All-MEAC second team.

2017-18 (N.C. Central): Emerged as N.C. Central’s starting point guard as a true freshman, appearing in 35 games with 25 starts…named to the MEAC All-Rookie team…averaged 27.3 minutes per game to help the Eagles capture the 2018 MEAC Championship…averaged 8.3 points per game…ranked second in the MEAC with 5.4 assists per game and a 2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio…shot .440 from the floor and .389 from three-point range…also shot .714 from the charity stripe…recorded a double-double against Bethune-Cookman with 17 points and 10 assists (Feb. 12)…also recorded a double-double with 14 assists and 13 points against Howard (Feb. 19).

High School: Led Greensboro Day to the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 3A State Championship in 2015 and 2017…competed at the DICK’s National Tournament with Greensboro Day, scoring 14 points and hitting 3-of-5 three-pointers to upset IMG Academy in the quarterfinals.

Personal: Son of Reggie and Lisa Perkins…has a brother, Reggie Jr….brother played basketball at Catawba…cousin, John Newman III also played at Clemson.
