The First Pitch:
•    Longwood wraps up a four-game homestand this weekend by hosting Winthrop at Buddy Bolding Stadium.
•    Friday's game will have baseball bingo, and it is faculty/staff appreciation day. Pippy's Dog House will be there as well.
•    Saturday's game will be Senior Day for the baseball team, and Sunday will be Youth Day.
•    The Press Club food truck will also be there Saturday and Sunday, and Ice Cream Delight will be at the field on Sunday.
•    Longwood takes on a Winthrop side that is part of a four-way tie for third in the Big South.
•    The Lancers lead the Big South in stolen bases with 113, and the team is seventh in the nation. Three players have at least 15 for Longwood.
 
Previous Game
•    Longwood fell in a Commonwealth Clash 7-1 on Tuesday at Buddy Bolding Stadium.
•    The game was much closer than the final, with the score locked at 3-1 through seven innings.
•    Longwood's pitching staff was solid in the first seven innings, limiting the big moments for a high-powered Richmond offense. Kyle Miller, Alek Elges and Isaiah Brewington tossed scoreless relief innings in the middle of the game.
•    Richmond scored three unearned runs in the second inning after back-to-back Lancer errors, but the Lancer bullpen kept it there.
•    On offense, Mikey Urbaniak had two hits and reached base safely four times in the matchup for the Lancers.
•    Ultimately, Richmond added four runs in the last two innings to close it out.
