The First Pitch:
•    Longwood opens up a four-game road swing with a midweek trip to William & Mary before a three-game series at Charleston Southern.
•    The Lancers have four midweek games left in the regular season along with four Big South weekends.
•    This week is unique, as Longwood will play on Tuesday and then Thursday-Saturday on Easter weekend.
•    The Big South standings are incredibly tight. Four teams are tied for fourth at 5-7 in Big South play, and Longwood is one game back at 4-8 in conference action.
•    The Lancers scored double digit runs in back-to-back games over the weekend.
•    William & Mary is tied for second in the CAA standings at 7-5.

Previous Series
•    Longwood fell in a slugfest of a three-game series against High Point over the weekend.
•    HPU, the preseason Big South favorite, won 9-7, 19-11 and 19-10 over the Lancers as the two teams combined 75 runs in the three-game series.
•    The opening game was tight throughout, and the Lancers put the tying run at second in the ninth inning, but a strikeout ended the comeback effort.
•    In the second game, three big innings powered HPU, although Longwood rallied to close the gap late in the contest.
•    In the series finale, the two offense piled up 37 combined hits while HPU used six home runs to muscle past Longwood.
•    Carter Newman batted better than .500 on the weekend to lead Longwood.
 
Around The Bases:
•    Longwood scored at least 10 runs in a game in back-to-back games for the second time this season after scoring 11 runs and then 10 against High Point in the final two games of the series.
•    The Lancers also had at least 10 hits twice in the three-game series, the second time the team has managed it after doing so in all three games at UNC Asheville.
•    In Big South play, the Lancer offense ranks fourth in batting average at .306, and the team is also fourth in runs with 105.
•    Longwood also leads the league in steals with 33 in Big South play, which tracks with the regular season as a whole where the Lancers have 100 stolen bases.
•    The 100 stolen bases ranks sixth in the nation.
•    In addition, Longwood ranks third in the Big South with a .448 on-base percentage in 12 conference games.
•    That is in large part because Longwood leads the conference with 85 walks while ranking second with 28 hit by pitches.
•    The Lancers are also third in the league with 29 doubles.
•    On the season as a whole, Longwood is fourth with 69 doubles, and James Nelson has a team-high 15 (second) while Myles Webb has 10, which is tied for ninth.
•    Tre Keels has hit nearly half of Longwood's home runs, with eight, which is tied for eighth in the league.
•    Keels also has swiped 25 bases, good for one-quarter of Longwood's total as a team and a mark that ranks 13th natinoally and first in the league.
•    Myles Webb (15 SB) is fourth, and Mac Tufts (13 SB) is fifth.
