FARMVILLE, Va. — The Longwood men's tennis team got back on the winning track with 6-1 victory over Norfolk State at home on Tuesday.
After dropping the doubles point, the Lancers rebounded to sweep singles action.
First,
Mauricio Gonzalez Paiva defeated Denis, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 on court two and
Petar Belosevic topped Boris Lunin, 6-4, 6-4 on No. 3 as the Lancers took a 2-1 lead in the match.
Timéo Puech made it 3-1 with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory from the top spot in the lineup.
Alejandro Uribe then won, 6-3, 7-6 (5), at No. 4 and
Marko Mrdak beat Igor Kubalka, 7-5, 6-1, on court five.
Petter Lindquist finished off the day with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Michele Elia at No. 6.
The Lancers improved to 3-4 on the season with the victory.
Longwood returns to action Saturday against Bucknell in Richmond, Va. match time is set for 1 p.m.
