SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Longwood senior men's tennis player Timéo Puech advanced in the consolation singles draw at the ITA Conference Masters Championship on Friday.
Puech won the first set against Sabi Roy from Belmont and was leading, 2-0, in the second when Roi retired.
Puech moves on in the consolation quarterfinals Saturday when he faces Nikola Puntaric of Northern Illinois at a time to be announced.
He qualified for the tournament by winning the Big South individual men's singles crown in Rock Hill, S.C., on Oct. 6.
