ROCK HILL, S.C. — Longwood senior Timéo Puech will play for both the singles and doubles titles at the 2025 Big South Men's Tennis Individual Championship on Sunday at Rock Hill Tennis Center.
Puech, the No. 3 seed in the singles draw and No. 2 seed with junior partner Daniel Borisov in doubles, will have a chance to advance to the ITA Conference Masters Championships with victories. That event is set for Nov. 6-9 at Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.
Puech moved to the singles final with a quarterfinal win over No. 11 Boyd Schreiber from Gardner-Webb, 6-3, 7-6 (4), and a semifinal triumph against No. 10 Will Pelligrini of Bryant, 6-2, 6-3.
Puech will take on fifth-seeded Miguel Angel Machado at 11:30 a.m for the championship.
Puech and Borisov defeated their Longwood teammates and No. 7 seed Daniel Lopez and Alejandro Uribe 8-6 to move to the final there. The tandem plays the top-seeded pair of (1) David Mamalat and Matija Samardzic from Presbyterian at 10 a.m.
In the singles consolation draw, Uribe beat Samardzic, 6-3, 6-4, and Borisov got past Daksh Prasad, 6-2, 7-5. Rufus Plane also topped Lancer teammate Ninad Raut, 6-4, 6-4.
