GREENSBORO, N.C. – Longwood women's golf wrapped up the UNCG Collegiate in sixth this morning at Forest Oaks Country Club.
 
Avery Nordman and Caroline Tragesser capped a solid two days by finishing in the top 15 of the 67-player field.
 
NOTABLE RESULTS:
 
The Lancers posted a three-round tally of 295-307-301—903 (+39) behind Nordman and Tragesser's solid rounds. Four Lancers finished in the top half of the field to help the Lancers finish sixth out of 11 teams.
 
Nordman moved up three spots into sole possession of 12^th behind the team's low round on the day. The freshman finished with a one-over 73 after carding two birdies and 13 pars on the day, and she finished with a 75-75-73—223 (+7).
 
Tragesser, meanwhile, wasn't far behind Nordman. She finished with a 74 thanks to 14 pars and one birdie on the day to earn a 71-79-74—224 (+8) that tied for 13^th. It was her best finish of the season both in the standings and relative to par.
 
Chiara Wippert battled an up-and-down round that saw her card a team-best four birdies to finish with a 76. Her three-round tally of 73-79-76—228 (+12) had her tied for 23^rd.
 
Madison Lehr finished tied for 29^th with a three-round total of 77-75-79—231 (+15) and had six birdies at the tournament. Abigail Sheldon tied for 35^th with a 76-78-78—229 (+16).
 
WHAT THEY SAID:
 
"Sixth place was a disappointing finish after the high bar we set in the first round," said Longwood Head Coach Megan Weaver. "Round one seems like our outlier round, but it wasn't even us playing our best golf. We had high hopes of finishing today aligned more with yesterday morning. Avery and Caroline stepped up and played well today."
