The First Pitch:
•    Longwood is set to host UNC Asheville in a home Big South Conference weekend.
•    Longwood comes into the weekend following a weekend series at Gardner Webb which saw the Lancers win game one before dropping the last two of the series.
•    Longwood currently sits tied for sixth in the Big South standings.
•    The Lancers are returning home after being on the road for nine straight games.

Around The Bases:
•    Longwood is set to host UNC Asheville for a Big South Conference weekend series.
•    The Lancers look to bounce back from last weekend which saw them drop two of three on the road at Gardner Webb.
•    The Lancers experience has been a steady piece on both sides of the ball this season. Noah Campanelli, Hayden Harris, and Drew Camp help lead the way for Longwood behind the plate, while Andrew Potojecki and Brenton Fisher start two of the three weekend series games.
•    On Friday, Longwood jumped out of the gates fast, plating five runs in the first inning at Gardner Webb.
 •    Sean Gibbons came on in relief for the Lancers, going 6.1 innings, striking out seven, and earned the win for Longwood. This was Longwood's first Friday night win in conference play this season.
•    The Lancers saw game two of the series turn into a five hour contest due to multiple weather delays throughout. Longwood held a 5-2 lead in the sixth inning, before entering a second delay. When the two teams resumed play, Gardner Webb's bats exploded to help them even the series at one.
•    Runs in game three proved to be tough to come by. Both teams saw runners in scoring position in multiple innings, but great pitching performances on both sides worked out of the jams. Dominick D'Ercole and Ethan Walker were exceptional on the mound, but Gardner Webb's two runs proved to be the difference to help the Bulldogs take the series over the Lancers.
•    The Lancers are still proving that they are not afraid when it comes to being hit by a pitch. They currently sit fifth in the country in HBP at 91. Tanner Thomas ranks 28th in the country in HBP per game with 14 total.
.•    Longwood has also proven to be an unselfish bunch at the plate this season as they have the sixth most sacrifice bunts on the season in the country at 40.
