BLACKSBURG, Va. – Longwood lacrosse fell on the road at Virginia Tech on Wednesday afternoon. The Hokies (7-4) used a big second quarter to pull away from the Lancers (2-6).
 
Ariana Tucci led Longwood with two goals, but Virginia Tech had Isa Torres score four while Olivia Vergano, Grace New and Marie Cacciabaudo all added three each.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
Longwood struck first when 
Claire Libby slotted home a goal less than four minutes in off a feed from 
Holly Hill, but Vergano and New each scored to kickstart Virginia Tech.
 
After the Hokies scored four straight to take a 4-1 lead, Tucci sent home her first goal to trim the lead to 4-2.
 
From that point on, Virginia Tech scored 11 straight, working into the third quarter, to break the game open.
