OPENING TIP
•    Longwood hits the road for a trip to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Wednesday night.
•    The Lancers last played UMES in 2019 in Farmville after making the trip to Princess Anne, Maryland in the 2018-19 season.
•    Under Head Coach Griff Aldrich, Longwood has been solid on the road with 30 true road wins in his time at the helm of the Lancers.
•    The Lancers had four players score in double figures in the season opener on the road at St. Bonaventure before having six crest the double-figure mark in their home opener on Saturday against St. Mary's College (Md.).
•    Longwood has also had at least one player post a double-double in each game this season.
•    Johnathan Massie leads the team in scoring at 18 points per game, and he is one of four players averaging at least 10 points per game.

LAST TIME OUT
•    Longwood opened the Joan Perry Brock Center era in front of a sold-out crowd with a resounding 95-43 win over St. Mary's College (Md.).
•    Johnathan Massie again led the charge on offense. The junior transfer tied for the team lead with 13 points as part of a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double, his first both as a Lancer and in his collegiate career.
•    Elijah Tucker matched him in scoring with 13 points, a career best, in his second game in Lancer blue.
•    Walyn Napper (12), Jaylen Benard (12), Szymon Zapala (10) and Michael Christmas (10) also scored at least 10 points.
•    Longwood never trailed and used a 13-0 run to seize control of the game's opening minutes. The Lancers led by double figures for the rest of the contest.

BY THE NUMBERS
•    Longwood has owned the offensive glass to start the 2023-24 season. The Lancers have grabbed at least 20 offensive rebounds in back-to-back games.
•    The Lancers have grabbed 45 offensive boards, which represents nearly half of their misses. The team's 22.5 offensive rebounds per game ranks second in the nation.
•    Four players have grabbed at least five offensive rebounds through two games (Szymon Zapala-11, Michael Christmas-7, Johnathan Massie-5, Elijah Tucker-5).
•    Through two games, that hustle on the glass has helped Longwood rack up 52 second-chance points.
•    Longwood also ranks first in the nation in rebounding margin (+25.5).
•    Six players scored in double figures for Longwood against St. Mary's College (Md) after four did so in the season opener. The team had four or more players score in double figures in a game 12 times last season.
•    Three players have had a double-double for Longwood through two games.
•    Johnathan Massie had his first collegiate double-double with a 13-point, 11-rebound performance against St. Mary's College (Md) on November 11.
•    Meanwhile, Szymon Zapala and Michael Christmas both tallied double-doubles in the team's season-opener at St. Bonaventure on November 6. Zapala had 20 points and 11 rebounds, both career bests, and Christmas added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
•    The Lancers sold out their home opener in their first game in the Joan Perry Brock Center, with 3,000 fans watching the first game in the new arena.
•    Longwood is the only team in the Big South with an active streak of back-to-back 20-win seasons.
