Longwood Baseball Returns To Farmville For Midweek Commonwealth Match-Up With George Mason

· Longwood are coming off of a Big South weekend against High Point that saw them win two out of three games. The Lancers 7-2 conference record is the best through nine games since the team joined the Big South in 2012
· George Mason had opposite luck dropping two out of three against Saint Joseph's University
· Against common opponents James Madison and Virginia Commonwealth, George Mason is 1-3 with their win coming against VCU in their series opener on April 1st. Longwood's record against those two sides is 0-3

· Though what would be considered a quiet week offensively for Longwood, the Lancers offense is still ranked in the top three for every major offensive category in the Big South, including first in doubles and RBI

Players to watch
· Jack Schnell, currently second in the Big South in doubles, has been one of the more consistent batters in the Lancers lineup and also ranks 9th in the conference in batting average and RBI. Schnell led the team in last weeks contests where he batted .368 with seven hits
· Dominick D'Ercole has emerged as the go-to long relief arm out of the Lancers bullpen. The red-shirt sophomore threw seven shutout innings last week against Duke and High Point, and was a catalyst in Sunday's series clinching win over the Panthers, in which he clinched his first win of 2022
