Longwood Men's Tennis Wins For Second Consecutive Time This Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Lancers men's tennis team took down the Howard University Bison in a 4-2 match. This gives the men's tennis team their third win of the season and second in a row after a tough opening line-up.
Doubles
The No.1 Howard doubles team of Justin Cadeau and Daniel Dunac defeated
Luis Reis and
Rosen Naydenov 6-4 to start the match. Bison duo Marcel Dawson and Tory Bailey defeated senior
Guillermo Cagigas and junior
Ernest Rocabert with a score of 6-4, clinching the doubles point for Howard. Longwood's (3-4) No.3 tandem of freshmen
Nikhil Kulkarni and
Yoav Weinberg were down 4-5 against Gabe Knowles and Kyle Martin, but overcame the deficit to win 7-5.
Singles
In No.1 singles, Cadeau earned a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Naydenov. Longwood retaliated by emerging victorious in No. 2 and No. 3 singles when Cagigas and graduate
Jourdan Kast won in straight sets over Bailey and Dunac, respectively. In the No.5 and No.6 singles match, Weinberg and Reis won in straight sets over Dieng and Knowles, to clinch the match for Longwood. No.4 singles of Rocabert and Marcel Dawson did not finish due to the match being clinched by the Lancers.
