FARMVILLE, Va. – Radford improved to 3-1 in Big South play, beating Longwood women's tennis 6-1 on Thursday afternoon.
 
Originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 31 but postponed a day due to weather, the dual was held at the indoor Virginia Tech tennis courts.
 
Freshman ace Salma Loudili improved to 9-3 for the Highlanders (5-7, 3-1 Big South), winning her fifth match in a row in the first position over Adelaide Thuilot 6-3, 6-2. Loudili is now 4-0 in Big South play, and 3-0 in the top spot of the lineup. Malin Falk picked up her eighth win of the season, beating Longwood's Emma Nurgazieva 6-1, 6-0 in the third spot to improve her Big South record to 3-1.
 
Loudlil and Malin's wins served as the second and third points of the match, as the Highlanders opened the dual with a pair of doubles wins to secure the first point.
 
The Lancers (3-9, 0-4 Big South) got on the board next when sophomore Maria Saez beat Radford's Melissa Ifidzhen 7-5, 6-0 to bring Longwood within two, 3-1. The win is the fourth for Saez in her last five matches, and her first victory in Big South play in 2021.
 
However, the deep Highlander lineup responded by winning the final three matches, closing their second-consecutive win in conference play at 6-1.
 
Up next for the Lancers is a return home for a showdown with Charleston Southern on Friday, April 2 at 12 p.m.
