Box Score BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Winthrop's Brooke Ellison laced a one-out double down the line, as the Eagles scored a pair of runs in the seventh inning to earn a 4-3 win and force a winner-take-all championship game Saturday morning at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.

Ellison's hit and Winthrop's rally came a half inning after Kaylynn 'Bug' Batten hit her second home run of the tournament to give Longwood a 3-2 lead. The hit from Ellison came with Longwood needing two outs to win its fifth Big South Championship.  

Morgan Lowers led the Eagles (30-24) at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored, while Blake Wallert went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Sydney Gay (12-10) took the loss allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk in a complete-game performance.

Coming off a grand slam Friday to send Chelsea Whitcomb led Longwood with a 2-for-3 effort, as she was one six different Lancers to collect a hit.

Madyson Watson (15-4) picked up the win for the Eagles with a complete-game performance, allowing three runs on seven hits
