Box Score BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Winthrop's Brooke Ellison laced a one-out double down the line, as the Eagles scored a pair of runs in the seventh inning to earn a 4-3 win and force a winner-take-all championship game Saturday morning at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.
Ellison's hit and Winthrop's rally came a half inning after
Kaylynn 'Bug' Batten hit her second home run of the tournament to give Longwood a 3-2 lead. The hit from Ellison came with Longwood needing two outs to win its fifth Big South Championship. Â
Morgan Lowers led the Eagles (30-24) at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored, while Blake Wallert went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
