• Longwood returns to Willett Hall with a two-game win streak to open Big South Conference play against the Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb. Â
• The Lancers seek their first win to open conference play since the 2012-2013 season, which began Big South play with three straight conference victories. Â
• Freshman Kyla McMakin is the reigning Big South Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week following her 29-point performance in the win against the Hawks of Maryland Eastern Shore on December 19. Â
• Longwood's victory on the road against UMES was the first road victory dating back to February 10, 2018, at Presbyterian College, ending a streak of 22-straight road losses for the program. The win is also the first non-conference road win since November 20, 2016, against the University of Massachusetts.

• Longwood made the trip to Maryland Eastern Shore after making an educational stop at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C.Â
• The Lancers used career-highs from Kyla McMakin (29 points) and Akila Smith (18 points) to secure their first road victory since February 2018, as Longwood outscored the Hawks, 71-62.Â
• The Lancers' offense heated up after halftime, shooting 52% from the court in the second half, and establishing a deep-threat from behind the three-point line, shooting 56%, knocking down 9-of-17 attempts in the second half.

• Averaging 64.9 points per game, Longwood ranks third in the Big South Conference in scoring offense as the Lancers enter Big South play.Â
• Efficiency on offense has Longwood tied for second in the conference with Charleston Southern and .001 behind Big South best Campbell in field goal percentages. Â
• Kyla McMakin used her 29-point performance against UMES to jump to second in the Big South in scoring, averaging 16.6 points per game. McMakin finds herself trailing only Skylar Curran (High Point) in the conference with 1.3 points per game separating the duo.
• Tra'Dayja Smith continues her impressive start to the season as the Lancers Point Guard. Smith leads the Big South and ranks 8th in Division I averaging 6.3 assists per game. Â
• Through nine games, Longwood's defense ranks third in the Big South in field goal percentage defense, with opponents shooting .389 against the Lancers. Â
• Longwood continues to disrupt opponents with a Big South leading 5.33 blocks per game. The Lancers have recorded 48 blocks through nine games, compared to the 2018-19 team that blocked 101 shots through 30 games. Â
• Leading the team in blocks, Akila Smith has proven herself on the defensive side of the ball for Longwood, leading the Big South with 22-blocks on the season, eight more than anyone else in the Big South. Smith ranks 20th in Division I averaging 2.44 blocks per game.

• Longwood welcomes the Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb back to Willett Hall, hoping for a similar result the last time Gardner-Webb visited Farmville. Â
• The Lancers and Runnin' Bulldogs split the two-game series during the 2018-2019 season, with each home team protecting their home court.Â
• The last matchup in Willett Hall between the programs featured Dayna Rouse setting the Division I record for the Lancers with 34 points in the OT victory over Gardner-Webb, 85-79.Â
