Leading Off
•With two weekends of conference play remaining, the Lancers enter their final weekend of non-conference play seventh in the Big South, needing to post a top-eight finish to qualify for the tournament.
•Longwood's weekend series against Navy will begin with a doubleheader Saturday, game one set for seven innings.
•This weekend is senior weekend for Navy, the regular season Patriot League champion for a fourth consecutive year.

Last Time Out
•Longwood enters off a 9-2 setback at Norfolk State Tuesday.
•Norfolk State scored four runs in the third inning to break away from Longwood.
•Out of the bullpen freshman Tommy Green struck out a career-high six batters in 4.0 innings of work.
Justin Mitchell reached on a double and a walk to extend his reached base streak to 15 games, tied for the longest by a Lancer in 2018.

By The Numbers
•For his outing against UNC Asheville on April 14 Tyler Morgan was named Big South Pitcher of the Week April 16.
•Morgan tossed a complete game shutout, Longwood's first since Aaron Myers did it against Ohio University in 2014. Morgan struck out 13 batters and allowed just five base runners. 
•Morgan leads the Big South with a .213 batting average against.
•Longwood is on a home run kick as of late with 16 of its 17 home runs on the season coming in the last 21 games.
Justin Mitchell won Saturday's game two at Liberty on a two-run homer in the ninth, sending the Lancers to an 8-6 victory.
•Longwood has posted seven quality starts on the season with Cody Boydstun posting three in his first season as a starter.
•All three starting pitchers - Steven Farkas, Boydstun, and Michael Catlin - each picked up quality starts in the weekend series against Iona that began March 9. The three starting pitchers averaged 7.0 innings, one run, and seven strikeouts for the series.
•Farkas and Tyler Morgan each collected quality starts in shutout wins against UNC Asheville.
•Farkas struck out a school-record 14 batters in 7.0 scoreless innings on April 13.
•After Farkas' gem, Morgan struck out 13 batters in a complete game shutout for his first career quality start.
•Senior outfielder Sammy Miller is the team captain and Longwood's lead-off man. Miller reaches base at a rate of .389 (28-for-72) when leading off an inning, best on the team.
•Miller owns a team-best .299 average, is seventh in the Big South with 32 walks drawn, and fifth with 17 steals.
Grant Keller capped off the best month of his career with a 6-for-16 series against Liberty.
•Keller hit .392 (20-for-51) in April with four doubles, eight RBI, and a .492 OBP.
•In April Sammy Miller hit .322 (19-for-59) with three doubles, his first two career homers, 13 RBI and 19 runs scored, plus 17 walks.
Steven Farkas struck out 12 batters in 6.0 scoreless innings March 9 against Iona and then struck out a program-record 14 against UNC Asheville on April 13. Farkas leads the Big South with 79 strikeouts.
•The Lancers are second in the Big South with 393 as a team in 2018.
•Longwood led the Big South with 511 punchouts in 2017, breaking the previous school D-I record of 440.
•Junior right-handed relief pitcher Eric Harp picked up his first-career Big South Relief Pitcher of the Week award for his dominance at USC Upstate on March 7.
•Harp, a 6-foot-9 relief ace, tossed 4.0 shutout innings with one hit and one walk with 11 strikeouts. In the final game of the series Harp tossed 3.2 perfect innings, striking out nine of 11 batters faced.
Tyler Morgan picked up the Big South Pitcher of the Week award on April 16, becoming the 10th Lancer to win a weekly award.

Scouting Navy
•Longwood and Navy are set to meet for the first time on the diamond when they play this weekend.
•Navy, already through its Patriot League schedule, has clinched its fourth consecutive regular season title and number one seed in the Patriot League tournament.
•At the plate Navy leads the league in hitting (.289), runs (292), slugging (.410), on-base percentage (.378), hits (452), RBI (261), doubles (105), triples (21), total bases (641), and walks drawn (202).
•Navy's pitching staff leads the Patriot League in ERA (3.04), opposing batting average (.242), batters struck out looking (118), wins (34), and is second in strikeouts (359).
•Zach Biggers leads the conference with a .344 batting average, one of three .300 hitters, joined by Liam Lowery (.326) and Stephen Born.
•Lowery leads the league with a .504 slugging percentage and is tied with Hodge for the lead with 15 doubles.
•Logan Knowles has scored a league-best 47 runs.
•Jacob Williamson has picked up the most RBI in the league with 43 on the year.
•Noah Song has posted a league-best 1.54 ERA and leads the league in innings (70.0) and strikeouts (98).
•Jared Leins is tied for the Patriot League lead with five saves.
