•The Lancers are set to take on Winthrop in a three-game series in Rock Hill, S.C.
•The last time the Lancers faced Winthrop in Rock Hill, Longwood took the first two games of a three-game set in 2016, clinching the 30th and final win of the regular season.

•Longwood enters the series after dropping the series to High Point, 2-1.
•In the weekend set Longwood put together a trio of multi-run innings, winning Friday's game one behind a five-run fifth inning. The win allowed the Lancers to take the first game of conference play for a third straight year.
•Longwood was to end an eight-game homestand with a game against Norfolk State Tuesday, which was canceled.
By The Numbers
•In just his second career start junior right-hander Cody Boydstun put together a gem, tossing 7.2 innings against Niagara on February 24. Boydstun struck out eight batters with two earned runs allowed, setting career highs in punchouts and innings pitched.
•In the first game of a doubleheader March 10 against Iona Cody Boydstun tossed his first career complete game with 9.0 innings of two-run ball. Boydstun struck out six in his first win as a starter.
•Steven Farkas put together his first quality start of the season with 6.0 scoreless innings March 9 against Iona. Farkas struck out 12 batters with three walks and five hits allowed, but received no decision.
•Michael Catlin, who has gone between the bullpen and starting rotation throughout his career, has made his mark as a starting pitcher in 2018.
•Catlin finished just shy of his first career quality start twice before finally breaking through with 6.0 innings of one-run ball in his second win of the season March 10 against Iona, the second game of a doubleheader.
•Longwood has posted four quality starts on the season with Cody Boydstun posting two in his first season as a starter.
•All three starting pitchers - Steven Farkas, Boydstun, and Michael Catlin - each picked up quality starts in the weekend series against Iona that began March 9. The three starting pitchers averaged 7.0 innings, one run, and seven strikeouts for the series.
•Two of Longwood's three starting pitchers have made the transition from the bullpen into the weekend rotation.
•Cody Boydstun, who had never made a start in his career leading into 2018, has made a pair of quality starts.
•Michael Catlin spent his first three seasons only making spot starts and was primarily a relief pitcher before transitioning into the starting rotation ahead of the 2018 season.
•Eric Harp picked up the Big South Relief Pitcher of the Week award on March 5, becoming the ninth Lancer to win a weekly award.
•Longwood won via walk-off for the first time in 2018 when Nate Blakeney plated pinch-runner Scott Carter on the first pitch with the bases loaded in the second game of a doubleheader against Niagara on February 24.
•Blakeney provided his first-career walkoff on May 6, 2018.
•Junior right-handed relief pitcher Eric Harp picked up his first-career Big South Relief Pitcher of the Week award for his dominance at USC Upstate on March 7.
•Harp, a 6-foot-9 relief ace, tossed 4.0 shutout innings with one hit and one walk with 11 strikeouts. In the final game of the series Harp tossed 3.2 perfect innings, striking out nine of 11 batters faced.

Scouting Winthrop
•Longwood and Winthrop are set to meet for the first time since playing a weekend series in Farmville in 2017, which began with a doubleheader. In the first game Longwood trailed Winthrop, 7-6, going into the home half of the ninth inning. The lead-off hitter in the inning,
Antwaun Tucker, homered to start the frame to tie the game. Later in the inning
Michael Osinski hit a two-run walk-off home run to top Winthrop, 9-7. Winthrop took the next two game of the series.
•Winthrop was picked to finish first in the Big South in 2018 and swept its first weekend series in conference play against Presbyterian. Winthrop opened the weekend with a season-high 15 runs and outscored PC 36-15 in the three games.
•Junior two-way player Cale Gibson leads Winthrop with a .308 batting average, four home runs, and 15 RBI.
•Mitch Spires is third on the team with a .283 average. The senior has nine doubles, second in the Big South.
•Preseason Big South Pitcher of the Year, Nate Pawelczyk, has posted a 3.38 ERA with a 2-2 record in five starts, lasting 32.0 innings and has 27 strikeouts with 17 walks issued. Pawelczyk hasn't allowed much hard contact with a .173 batting average against, best in the Big South.
•Riley Arnone has been the go-to bullpen arm with a 3.21 ERA across nine appearances, two starts, in 28.0 innings pitched with three saves.
