•Longwood is set for its first weekend of conference play, opening with High Point at Buddy Bolding Stadium.
•Longwood has won its first two home weekend series entering the matchup.
•The Lancers enter the weekend with momentum within the starting rotation after all three starters recorded quality starts vs. Iona. The rotation has posted an ERA of 4.64 on the season, but the starters posted a 1.29 ERA in the series.
•The Lancers enter having won the first game of the conference season each of the last two years. Longwood won the opening series against Charleston Southern in 2017.

•Longwood enters the weekend series off a midweek loss to Lafayette, 10-6.

•In just his second career start junior right-hander Cody Boydstun put together a gem, tossing 7.2 innings against Niagara on February 24. Boydstun struck out eight batters with two earned runs allowed, setting career highs in punchouts and innings pitched.
•In the first game of a doubleheader March 10 against Iona Cody Boydstun tossed his first career complete game with 9.0 innings of two-run ball. Boydstun struck out six in his first win as a starter.
•Steven Farkas put together his first quality start of the season with 6.0 scoreless innings March 9 against Iona. Farkas struck out 12 batters with three walks and five hits allowed, but received no decision.
•Michael Catlin, who has gone between the bullpen and starting rotation throughout his career, has made his mark as a starting pitcher in 2018.
•Catlin finished just shy of his first career quality start twice before finally breaking through with 6.0 innings of one-run ball in his second win of the season March 10 against Iona, the second game of a doubleheader.
•Freshman right-hander Tommy Green has taken advantage of the six appearances he's made in 2018. The Virginia Beach, Va., native has struck out 18 batters in 10.2 innings pitched, has tossed a season-high 3.0 innings twice and has posted a season-best five strikeouts twice and leads the team with two saves.
•Longwood has posted four quality starts on the season with Cody Boydstun posting two in his first season as a starter.
•All three starting pitchers - Steven Farkas, Boydstun, and Michael Catlin - each picked up quality starts in the weekend series against Iona that began March 9. The three starting pitchers averaged 7.0 innings, one run, and seven strikeouts for the series.
•Two of Longwood's three starting pitchers have made the transition from the bullpen into the weekend rotation.
•Cody Boydstun, who had never made a start in his career leading into 2018, has made a pair of quality starts.
•Michael Catlin spent his first three seasons only making spot starts and was primarily a relief pitcher before transitioning into the starting rotation ahead of the 2018 season.
•Eric Harp picked up the Big South Relief Pitcher of the Week award on March 5, becoming the ninth Lancer to win a weekly award.
•Junior right-handed relief pitcher Eric Harp picked up his first-career Big South Relief Pitcher of the Week award for his dominance at USC Upstate on March 7.
•Harp, a 6-foot-9 relief ace, tossed 4.0 shutout innings with one hit and one walk with 11 strikeouts. In the final game of the series Harp tossed 3.2 perfect innings, striking out nine of 11 batters faced.

Scouting High Point
•Longwood and High Point are set to meet for the first time since the 2016 season, in which the Lancers went 2-2 against HPU.
•Longwood dropped a series at High Point, 2-1, in the regular season, but the two teams that finished tied for second place in the Big South met up in the Big South quarterfinal in an elimination game during the 2016 tournament.
•In the postseason meeting the two teams combined for the highest scoring game in tournament history at that point and set the Lancers' highest scoring game in their five trips to the tournament.
•Picked to finish third in the Big South, High Point is 8-8 entering the weekend.
•Junior lefty Cooper Jeffers picked up Big South Relief Pitcher of the Week honors this past week after tossing 4.1 innings in relief and picked up the win against a ranked Coastal Carolina team Sunday.
•Tanner Wells, the reigning Big South Freshman of the Week, helped High Point to a 3-1 week during the week beginning March 5 with a hit and RBI in every game and a .412 average (7-for-17), highlighted by a 3-for-4 game in the Friday matchup.
•High Point's leading hitter is Daniel Millwee, who is hitting .352 with a pair of team highs with two home runs and 14 RBI.
•Wells (.333), Carson Jackson (.316), and Hunter Lee (.311) are all .300 hitters.
•High Point is second in the conference in both batting average and ERA.
