The Opening Tip
•    Fresh off their first Big South win of the season, Longwood hits the road to face a pair of Big South preseason favorites in UNC Asheville and Liberty this week. Reigning Big South regular season co-champion UNC Asheville was picked to win the conference in the preseason poll, while Liberty was picked to finish third.
•    After playing nine of 11 games with at least two key players out due to injury, Longwood is near full strength. Starters Charles Glover and Isaiah Walton both missed four straight games during that stretch — including three together — but have both played in Longwood's past two games.
•    Longwood head coach Jayson Gee is one win away from the 200th of his career. He is 199-161 in 12 seasons as a head coach, seven of which were at his alma mater, University of Charleston (W.Va.).

Last Time Out
•    B.K. Ashe recorded a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds to power the Lancers past Gardner-Webb 79-73 Saturday at Willett Hall and hand the Runnin' Bulldogs their first Big South loss of the season.
•    Ashe erupted for 17 points in the second half en route to his fourth career double-double. He shot 8-of-17 from the field and added five assists and three steals and was one of four double-digit scorers for Longwood.
•    Ashe's backcourt mate Isaiah Walton added 18 points, and Charles Glover and Spencer Franklin added 11 points apiece as the Lancers shot .491 (26-of-53) from the field and .471 (8-of-17) from beyond the arc.
•    The Lancers held the Runnin' Bulldogs without a field goal over the game's final 2:38, forcing three stops on Gardner-Webb's final three possessions.

By The Numbers
•    Longwood is 3-0 when the backcourt tandem of B.K. Ashe, Charles Glover and Isaiah Walton all score in double figures. Those three combined for 50 points this past Saturday to lead Longwood to a 79-73 win over Gardner-Webb.
•    Ashe, Glover and Walton have combined to provide 48.7 percent of Longwood's total scoring this season, despite a combined nine missed games from Glover and Walton. They combine to average 38.7 points per game, compared to 25.3 points per game from the rest of Longwood's lineup.
•    Ashe leads the Big South with 34.1 minutes per game, having played at least 33 minutes in 13 of his 16 games this season.
•    Ashe is averaging 5.6 rebounds per game, the second-highest rebounding average of all Big South guards. Ashe has hauled in at least five rebounds in nine straight games and has four games this season with at least eight boards.
•    With forward Spencer Franklin on the floor, Longwood allows a team-low 1.72 points per minute.
•    Longwood is holding opponents to a .309 (138-of-446) three-point shooting percentage, tied with Liberty for the lowest in the Big South. Only six of Longwood's 16 opponents have shot better than 33.3 percent from long range this season.
•    Damarion Geter has at least one block in six straight games. The Big South's third-leading shot-blocker, he has at least one rejection in all but four of his 12 games this season.
•    Freshman guard Kamil Chapman is the Big South's fourth-leading freshman scorer, averaging 7.1 points per game. Chapman has played in all 16 games, and ranks second on the team in three-point attempts (65) and third in made three-pointers (22).
•    Longwood's only three players to have played in all 16 games this season are B.K. Ashe, Kamil Chapman and JaShaun Smith.
