Antwaun Tucker won the Come Ready Nutrition Big South Freshman of the Week award on Monday, April 24.
•Tucker hit .375 for the week with a pair of home runs, including a game-tying homer in the ninth inning against Winthrop in game one of a doubleheader on April 21. The Lancers walked off to win, 9-7.

•The Lancers played a single midweek game after Tuesday's home game against VCU was rained out.
•At James Madison, the Dukes went off for 16 runs on 17 hits, scoring 11 runs in the third inning.

•Zach Potojecki struck out a career-best 13 batters at Savannah State on 3/3, one shy of the school record for a single game. Potojecki struck out 10 at Gardner-Webb on 4/9.
•Cody Wager struck out 10 batters at UNC Wilmington 3/11 and was magical again with 10 strikeouts in 8.1 shutout innings vs. Charleston Southern 3/18, taking a no-hitter two outs into the eighth. Wager then struck out a career-high 13 batters in a complete game win against Presbyterian 4/13.
•After leading the conference for the first two months, Longwood is second in the conference in punchouts with 366.
•Wager leads the Big South with 62 strikeouts and Potojecki is second with 57. Potojecki is 17th in the country with 12.21 strikeouts per nine innings.
•Longwood is 9th in the country with 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings as a team.
•Michael Catlin leads the Big South with a league-low 2.08 ERA, has a batting average against of .203 which is third-lowest in the conference, and has allowed league-lows 28 hits and 13 runs in 39.0 innings of work across 19 appearances.
•Freshman outfielder Antwaun Tucker picked up the first Big South Freshman of the Week award in program history on 4/24.
•In the week starting 4/17, Tucker hit .375 with two home runs, picked up four RBI, and stole three bases.
•On 4/21 Tucker hit a game-tying homer to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning in Longwood's walk-off win against Winthrop.
•Longwood has placed around the top 30 in several statistical categories in the NCAA.

Scouting Liberty
•Longwood and Liberty meet in the regular season for the first time since 2015, when Longwood hosted Liberty for a three-game set.
•Longwood and Liberty met in the 2016 Big South Tournament, playing a second-round matchup. Shane Quarterly and Carson Herndon held Longwood scoreless in 5.0 innings out of the bullpen to lead Liberty to a 9-3 win. Will Shepherd went 4-for-5 with four RBI, hitting a double and a homer in the game.
•Liberty enters the weekend with the top RPI in the conference, 65th in the NCAA. Liberty topped No. 3 North Carolina on April 18 behind a 14-hit effort from the offense, including a three-RBI game from current Co-Freshman of the Week Trey McDyre.
•Liberty enters off of a winning weekend series at Gardner-Webb. The Flames averaged 11 runs and 10 hits per game, taking two of three in the road series.
•D.J. Artis was tabbed the Big South player of the week after hitting .615 with five RBI and hit a home run against No. 3 UNC. Artis leads the Big South with a .357 batting average and a .515 on-base percentage, and is second in the league with 17 stolen bases.
•Sammy Taormina leads the conference with a .617 and has a Big South-best 43 RBI.
•Liberty leads the Big South with 264 runs scored and has a conference-leading 3.84 staff ERA, the lone team below 4.50.
