•   Longwood faces its 10th top-25 team in program history Tuesday when it squares off against No. 5 Arizona State. The Lancers last faced a top-25 squad on Dec. 9, 2016 when they lost 113-58 at No. 10 Creighton in Omaha, Nebraska.
•   Arizona State is the third-highest ranked team Longwood has faced since making the jump to the Division I ranks in 2004-05. The Lancers have previously faced No. 1 Illinois (12-27-04), No. 4 Villanova (12-10-05), No. 6 Wake Forest (2004-05), No. 7 Kansas (2010-11), No. 8 Indiana (2007-08), No. 10 Creighton (2016-17), No. 12 Creighton (2012-13), No. 17 Cincinnati (2004-05).and No. 23 Georgetown (2012-13).
•   Tuesday's game is one of two in Arizona for the Lancers, who face Grand Canyon in Phoenix Thursday.
Last Time Out
•   A 25-point outburst from Ivy League scoring leader Matt Morgan gave Cornell just enough of a cushion to hold off Longwood 69-62 Saturday afternoon at Willett Hall.
•   In a defensive battle on both sides, Morgan posted his sixth consecutive 20-point game to lead the Big Red to its third win in the past four games. Playing against a defensive-minded Longwood team that held Cornell to .397 shooting from the field, Morgan carried his squad by hitting 8-of-15 shots from the field and 7-of-8 free throws.
•   Longwood won the rebounding battle 47-40 and held Cornell to just .250 shooting from three.
•   Morgan's 25 points helped Cornell overcome three double-figure scoring efforts from the shorthanded Lancers, who got 13 points from Kamil Chapman, 12 from JaShaun Smith and 10 from B.K. Ashe.

•   Longwood has the Big South's top three-point defense, holding opponents to a conference-low .292 (88-of-301) shooting percentage from beyond the arc. Only Columbia (.410) and Saint Francis (.346) have shot better than 33.3 percent from long range against Longwood this season.
•   Longwood's .292 three-point field goal percentage defense is the 25th-best in the country.
•   Longwood has had at least two key players out due to injury in seven of the past eight games. Most recently against Cornell, Longwood was without starting guards Charles Glover and Isaiah Walton, two of the team's top three scorers.
•   The only four players to have played in all 11 games this season are B.K. Ashe, Kamil Chapman, Chris Shields and JaShaun Smith.
•   Longwood has deployed a different starting lineup in eight consecutive games. B.K. Ashe and Chris Shields are the only two players to have started every game this season.
•   Longwood averages a team-high 1.82 points per minute when redshirt junior Isaiah Walton is on the floor. Walton ranks third in the Big South with 17.2 points per game.
•   Longwood allows just 1.51 points per minute when Spencer Franklin is on the floor, the lowest clip on the team. Since Franklin made his debut five games ago, Longwood is holding opponents to .388 (151-of-389) shooting from the field, compared to .441 (135-of-306) in five games prior.

Damarion Geter is averaging career highs of 8.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game and shooting a career-best .667 (18-of-27) from the field.
•   JaShaun Smith has scored in double figures in four of his past six games. He is averaging 9.8 points per game and shooting .488 from the field, .444 from three-point range and .818 from the free throw line in that span.
