• The series marks the opening stretch of Longwood's final five non-conference games as the Lancers will wrap up that portion of the schedule with midweekers at Richmond and Duke.
• Longwood and NC State have met just once, an 18-4 Wolfpack win in 2006.
• NC State is the second of three ACC foes for the Lancers this season. Longwood fell last week at Virginia and will face Duke in Durham in two weeks.
• Left fielder
Kyri Washington was named the Big South Choice Hotels Player of the Week following his 8-for-16 week with nine RBI.
• Longwood will be looking for a bounce back on the mound after allowing 45 runs in four games last week.

Aaron Myers who set the school record on Saturday at Asheville. The former closer bounced back after a Friday night loss to work a perfect ninth in earning his first save of the season.
