Midweek Notes (PDF)LEADING OFF• Longwood hosts James Madison in the second meeting of the season between the Lancers and Dukes. Longwood defeated JMU 6-5 on Feb. 25 in Harrisonburg.
• The Lancers dropped their weekend series to High Point as the Panthers rallied from a 6-1 deficit in Sunday's rubber match.

Travis Biddix provided the big spark in the first meeting between Longwood and JMU with his ninth-inning solo home run to key a three-run rally for the Lancers.
• The Dukes are coming off a tough weekend as they were swept by College of Charleston in Harrisonburg.
• The Lancers are now 11-15 all-time against JMU and have won the three of the past four meetings.
• Longwood last swept the season series from JMU back in 2011, when the Lancers won 9-8 at home and 6-4 in Harrisonburg.
THE PRIOR ENGAGEMENT• Longwood snagged the previous meeting between the Lancers and Dukes as the blue and white used a three-run top of the ninth to rally from a one run deficit and eventually take a 6-5 victory.

Alex Lewis provided the big blow as the sophomore stepped up and delivered a two-out, two-run single up the middle to complete the rally and send Longwood to a 6-4 lead.
• Freshman MichaelCatlin picked up his first career win in the first meeting as he worked 1/3 of an inning in relief.

Luke Simpson garnered the first of his two saves on the season by shutting the door in the ninth despite JMU getting a run on no hits and an error.
• The Lancers are looking for their first season-sweep of the Dukes since the 2011 season when Longwood won 9-8 and 6-4.
