Edward Becker/Sydney, Australia, who combined to secure the team's lone victory in doubles action. The Lancers (1-8, 0-2 BSC) will resume play on Friday, March 7 against in-state opponent James Madison University in Harrisonburg at 1:30 p.m.
Elston and Becker played out of the No. 1 position for the Lancers in doubles, securing a 7-4 victory against UNC Asheville's Alex Croker and Brett Landau. Longwood struggled in the remaining doubles matches, however, as freshman

Bharani Sankar/Glen Allen dropped an 8-1 decision at No. 2 and sophomore classmates

Justin Higgs/Nassau, Bahamas fell, 8-5, at No. 3.
The Lancers battled in singles play, but were unable to secure a win. Elston (6-2, 6-3) and Becker (6-3, 6-1) both faced setbacks at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, respectively. Bryan slid up into the No. 3 position in Saturday's match, where he forced three-sets before falling, 6-3, 5-7, 10-4. Three sophomores dropped tough decisions to round out singles action, with Higgs (6-1, 6-1) at No. 4, Fudge (6-2, 6-2) at No. 5, and Sankar (6-2, 6-3) at No. 6.
