Aaron Myers/Newport News gained the save with the final 2.2 innings on the mound. Peter Bowles and Brendan Butler each hit home runs for the Tigers (6-4), and Joe Patton took the pitching loss for the hosts. Longwood's scheduled game at the University of Richmond on Wednesday, March 6, has been canceled due to weather conditions. The Lancers are scheduled to host Canisius College this weekend, March 8-10, at Charles Buddy Bolding Stadium in Farmville.
Longwood took a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Konvicka (2-4, RBI) tripled to lead-off and scored on a wild pitch. The Lancers made it 2-0 in the fifth after Delk (1-4, RBI) homered to left center field to open the at-bat.
Towson tied it at 2-2 in the sixth with the home runs by Butler (1-4, RBI) and Bowles (2-4, RBI).

Brandon Vick/Newport News started and pitched the first 5.1 innings for Longwood, scattering four hits and two runs, both earned, with three walks and four strikeouts. Burnette (2-0) pitched a scoreless inning for the Lancers, yielding two hits with no walks and no strikeouts. Myers earned his fourth save with the final 2.2 innings, allowing two hits with one walk and three strikeouts.
Patton (0-1) pitched 2.0 innings of middle relief for Towson, allowing three hits and one run, earned, with no walks and one strikeout.
