NORFOLK, Va. – Longwood University swept all three doubles matches and won three singles contests en route to a 4-0 non-conference women's tennis victory on the road at Norfolk State University of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference on Friday in Norfolk. Nicole Parker/Richmond at No. 6 against the Spartans (7-7). Longwood will play at Big South Conference opponent and in-state rival Radford University on Wednesday, April 3 at 2 p.m. in Radford.
At Norfolk State in the match-opening doubles competition, senior
Marta Pinyol/Barcelona, Spain and Shulman won at No. 1, 8-2. Allgurin and junior
Sarah Moomau/Winchester won at No. 2, 8-2. Senior
Hannah Hill/Portsmouth and Parker won at No. 3, 8-2. In singles, as mentioned, Allgurin won at No. 2 (6-0, 6-0), Shulman won at No, 3 (6-2, 6-3) and Parker won at No. 6 (6-2, 6-0). Pinyol at No, 1, Moomau at No. 4 and Hill at No. 5 did not need to finish their respective matches.
