FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University dropped to 9-10 with a 6-1 loss to visiting George Washington University of the Atlantic 10 Conference Friday afternoon on Lancer Courts in Farmville. Freshman Malin Allgurin|Värnamo, Sweden (Finnvedens Gymnasium) is on an unprecedented 10-match winning streak as she earned the Lancers' only point of the day, winning 6-2, 6-0 at #3 singles. Longwood stays in Farmville to host North Carolina A&T of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Saturday, April 7 at 2 p.m.

Allgurin also played #1 doubles with junior Allison Shulman|Richmond (Deep Run), but the duo lost 8-1. Shulman also fell 6-3, 6-1 at #2 singles. Junior Marta Pinyol|Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) lost 6-2, 6-4 at #1 singles, and sophomore Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Handley) went down 6-1, 6-4 at #4 singles. The junior-sophomore pair also dropped the #2 doubles match 8-4. Sophomore Nicole Parker|Richmond (Mills Godwin) played #5 singles and was beat 6-1, 6-4, while she and junior Hannah Hill|Portsmouth (Western Branch) lost 8-1 at #3 doubles. Sophomore Bethany Law|Ona, W. Va. (Cabell Midland) was in the #6 slot for singles and was topped 7-5, 6-0.
