LYNCHBURG, Va. – Longwood University defeated NCAA Division III Lynchburg College 6-1 in men's tennis acton in Lynchburg on Saturday morning. Freshmen Daniel Elston|Bath, England (Ralph Allen School) and Harry Kelleher|Sydney, Australia (St Aloysius' College) both swept their opponents 6-0, 6-0 at #3 and #5 singles, respectively. The Lancers (8-9) will play their season finale at Wake Forest University of the Atlantic Coast Conference in Winston Salem, North Carolina on Sunday, April 15 at 5 p.m.

Elston also won at #1 doubles with junior transfer Giorgi Khmiadashvili|Tbilisi, Georgia (Public School 148) 8-3, and Kelleher swept at #2 doubles 8-0 with sophomore Edward Becker|Sydney, Australia (Manly Selective Campus). Khmiadashvili won 6-1, 6-1 at #2 singles, and Becker took a 6-2, 6-1 victory at #4 singles. Senior captain Nobu Tanaka|Potomac, Md. (St. Johns College HS) won 6-0, 6-1 in the #1 singles slot, while freshman Steed Johnson|Raleigh, N.C. (Broughton) lost by default at #6 singles due to an injury. The senior-freshman duo also had to default at #3 doubles.
