FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University swept Norfolk State 7-0 at home in Farmville on Lancer Courts in a women's tennis match Wednesday afternoon. Freshman Malin Allgurin|Värnamo, Sweden (Finnvedens Gymnasium) won 6-0, 6-1 at #3 singles. Longwood (2-6) plays the first of four road matches in five days on Friday, March 9 at 1 p.m., traveling to Hampton University of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in Hampton, Virginia.

Malin partnered with junior Allison Shulman|Richmond (Deep Run) for another win at #1 doubles, sweeping 8-0. Shulman also earned a 6-2, 6-3 win at #2 singles. Junior Marta Pinyol|Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) and sophomore Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Handley) won in doubles as well at #2 by a score of 8-2. Pinyol won 6-3, 6-2 at #1 singles, while Moomau was a #4 singles winner 6-2, 6-0. Sophomore Bethany Law|Ona, W. Va. (Cabell Midland) won by the same 6-2, 6-0 score at #5 singles.
