FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University was swept 4-0 at the University of South Carolina Upstate of the Atlantic Sun Conference in a men's tennis match Monday afternoon in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Freshman Harry Kelleher|Sydney, Australia (St Aloysius' College) played tough at #5 singles in his 6-4, 6-3 loss. The Lancers (4-6) travel to Clinton, South Carolina to play Presbyterian Wednesday, March 14 at 2:30 p.m.

Kelleher also dropped his #2 doubles match 8-6 with sophomore Edward Becker|Sydney, Australia (Manly Selective Campus). Becker played an unfinished match at #4 singles with a 6-4, 2-4 score before it ended, while senior Nobu Tanaka|Potomac, Md. (St. Johns College HS) and freshman Daniel Elston|Bath, England (Ralph Allen School) also did not finish their respective matches at #1 and #3 singles as the scores were 6-1, 5-5 and 6-1, 5-4 before stoppage. Elston played #1 doubles with junior transfer Giorgi Khmiadashvili|Tbilisi, Georgia (Public School 148) for an 8-3 loss, while Khmiadashvili lost at #2 singles 6-3, 6-1. Tanaka partnered with freshman Steed Johnson|Raleigh, N.C. (Broughton) at #3 doubles for an 8-1 defeat.
