FARMVILLE, Va. – The Longwood University women's tennis team fell 4-3 to Howard on Lancer Courts in Farmville Saturday afternoon. Freshman Nicole Parker|Richmond (Mills Godwin) won at No. 6 singles 7-5, 2-6, 6-1 and at No. 3 doubles 8-7 (4) with sophomore partner Hannah Hill|Portsmouth (Western Branch). The Lancers travel to Radford, Virginia on Tuesday, April 12 to face Radford at 3 p.m.

Senior Zsofia Jakab|Minusio, Switzerland (Lices Cantonale Locarns) won at No. 1 singles in three sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-3; however, she did not earn the victory at No. 1 doubles, as she and sophomore partner Marta Pinyol|Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) fell 8-6. In the No. 2 doubles position, sophomore Allison Shulman|Richmond (Deep Run) and freshman Bethany Law|Ona, W. Va. (Cabell Midland) went down 8-4.

Pinyol went down at the hands of her No. 2 singles opponent 6-2, 6-2, and Shulman was topped by two scores of 6-3 at No. 4 singles. Junior Veronika Bohm|Hirschberg, Germany (Ludwig Frank) lost 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, but freshman Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Haneley) beat her No. 5 singles foe handedly 6-1, 6-0.
