Marc Ferrigno|Hvidovre, Denmark (Brondby Gymnasium) dropped his No. 2 match in three sets 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, while Lesser also played three matches but pulled out the No. 3 win 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. At No. 5 singles, senior
Milo Barajas-Alexander|Arlington (Bishop O'Connell) dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision, and freshman
Jimmy Davis|Manassas (Stonewall Jackson) fell 6-7 (0), 0-6 at No. 4. Classmate
Edward Becker|Sydney, Australia (Manly Selective Campus) propelled the Lancers to victory with his three-set, tiebreaker win in the final match at No. 6 singles 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6).
Longwood swept ECU in doubles action as Ferrigno and Davis won 9-7 at No. 1 and Barajas-Alexander and Becker topped their No. 3 opponents 8-5.
"This match was probably the biggest win we've had in Longwood history," said head coach Pat Breen. "They're a pretty established team, and aside from the road match at Coastal Carolina this year, this is the biggest win we've had to date."
