LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Longwood University men's tennis dropped its seventh match of the season 4-3 at Liberty in Lynchburg, Virginia Tuesday afternoon. Junior Nobu Tanaka|Potomac, Md. (St. Johns College HS) and freshman partner Crescente Lesser|Santiago, Chile (La Reina) won individually at No. 1 and 3 singles, respectively, and as a duo at No. 2 doubles. The Lancers (5-7) return to Lancer Courts in Farmville on Thursday, April 7, at 3 p.m. to host East Carolina.

Tanaka tallied a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 decision as Lesser posted scores of 7-5, 6-1 in his win. The pair's double score win was 8-4. Sophomore Marc Ferrigno|Hvidovre, Denmark (Brondby Gymnasium) and freshman partner Jimmy Davis|Manassas (Stonewall Jackson) also won in doubles 8-4 at No. 1, securing the doubles point for LU. At No. 2 singles, Ferrigno fell 6-1, 7-6 (4), and Davis lost at No. 4 6-3, 6-2.

Also falling in singles was freshman Edward Becker|Sydney, Australia (Manly Selective Campus) at No. 6 by scores of 6-4, 6-1, while senior Milo Barajas-Alexander|Arlington (Bishop O'Connell) posted a No. 5 singles lost 6-4, 6-2. The two also lost as a pair at No. 3 doubles 8-5.
