FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University Athletics will provide free online Internet audio broadcasts for three remaining baseball games this season. The department will offer the live audio for both games of a doubleheader against visiting North Carolina A&T this Saturday, April 23, at Charles Buddy Bolding Stadium at 1 p.m., and for the final game of the season at Norfolk State University on May 14 at 1 p.m.
Scott Bacon, Longwood Director of Development for Intercollegiate Athletics, will call the play-by-play action during all three games, with pre-game beginning on both dates at 12:45 p.m. The broadcasts will be available worldwide via the Internet through

Bacon, recently appointed to his position in University Advancement, has served as the voice of the Lancers for Longwood Men's Basketball since 2007-08. He previously served as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Lynchburg Hillcats, the Carolina League (Advanced-A) affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, from 2007-11. The Cleveland, Ohio native spent four years calling games for the Columbus All-Americans in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League as well.
Longwood Athletics anticipates adding a more complete schedule of baseball broadcasts during 2012.

FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood Baseball is sponsoring its Youth Day on Saturday, April 23, offering all area youth a fun day of baseball at Bolding Stadium. There will be opportunities to join the Lancers on the field during pre-game of the doubleheader opener for the National Anthem, return to the field to participate in the pre-game huddle prior to game two of the twinbill, and finally, the team will be conduct a free instructional clinic on the field following the two games at approximately 5 p.m. As always, admission is FREE for both games and all youth attending are encouraged to bring their glove and wear their team uniform.
