NORFOLK, Va. – The Longwood University women's tennis team swept their opponents for the second match in a row with a 7-0 victory at Norfolk State in Norfolk, Virginia Wednesday afternoon. Senior Zsofia Jakab|Minusio, Switzerland (Lices Cantonale Locarns) and freshman Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Haneley) extended their winning streaks to four matches at No. 1 and No. 5, respectively, scoring 6-2, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0. The Lancers host North Carolina Central tomorrow (Thursday), April 14, at 3 p.m.

Jakab also won her doubles match with sophomore Marta Pinyol|Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) 8-6 at No. 1. Sophomore Allison Shulman|Richmond (Deep Run) and freshman Bethany Law|Ona, W. Va. (Cabell Midland) won at No. 2 doubles 8-2, and freshman Nicole Parker|Richmond (Mills Godwin) and sophomore Hannah Hill|Portsmouth (Western Branch) won by the same score at No. 3.

Pinyol was victorious at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-3, while Shulman won her No. 4 singles match 6-4, 2-6, 10-4. Parker played at No. 6 singles for just the third time this season, and won for the third time, with a 6-2, 6-4 decision. Junior Veronika Bohm|Hirschberg, Germany (Ludwig Frank) tallied a win at No. 3 singles 6-4, 6-1.
