RICHMOND, Va. – The Longwood University men's tennis team swept Richmond 7-0 in Richmond Thursday afternoon. With a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles, freshman
Jimmy Davis|Manassas (Stonewall Jackson) moved to 3-2 on the season, while he and sophomore
Marc Ferrigno|Hvidovre, Denmark (Brondby Gymnasium) extended their No. 1 doubles undefeated record to 3-0 with an 8-3 victory. The Lancers (3-3) will travel to Boiling Springs, North Carolina Saturday, March 5 to face Gardner-Webb at 10 a.m. and Mars Hills at 1:30 p.m.
Ferrigno won 6-3, 3-6, (11-9) at No. 2 singles, while junior
Nobu Tanaka|Potomac, Md. (St. Johns College HS) won 3-6, 6-2, (10-3) in the No. 1 singles slot. At No. 3, freshman
Crescente Lesser|Santiago, Chile (La Reina) topped his opponent 6-1, 6-4 and paired with Tanaka at No. 2 doubles to win 8-4.

Edward Becker|Sydney, Australia (Manly Selective Campus) won at No. 3 doubles 8-2 while each won in singles at No. 6 and No. 5 with scores of 6-1, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-0, respectively.
